Sift flour, baking powder, and salt |

Cut in the butter or mix with oil. Add enough water to make pastry stiff. |

After kneading thoroughly, place it in warm place for 1 hour to rise. |

Roll out thinly and cut into rounds about 10 ems in diameter. |

Place filling on half of circle and fold other half on top, pressing down firmly with fingers. |

Fry in oil or brush top of each turnover with melted butter and place on greased baking pan and then bake in preheated hot oven until crisp and golden. |
