Wash turnips and beetroot and either slice or cut into quarters. |

Parboil water with salt and put into pickling jar to cool. |

Add vegetables, cover, and keep in a warm place away from direct light for about two days and then it would be ready to serve. |

There is another way for preparing Pickled Turnips with the same ingredients:
1) Wash turnips and beetroot, scrub well, and either slice Of cut into quarters.
2) Sprinkle with salt and leave to sweat for 24 hours.
3) Boil water with salt and put into pickling jar to cool.
4) Drain turnips, squeeze gently, and put in pickling jar with the beetroot and after one day only it would be ready to serve.
