Shrimp with Hoisin Sauce

1/2kg fresh shrimp, shelled |

1/2 c. hoisin sauce |
|
 |
1/4 c. vegetable oil |
|
 |
1/2 c. water |
|
 |
1 tbsp. cornstarch |
|
 |
2 tbsp. soy sauce |
|
 |
1 crushed garlic clove |
|
 |
3 thinly sliced scallions |
|
 |
2 peeled and minced slices of ginger root, |

 |
In a large pan, heat the oil, put ginger root and garlic, add the shrimp and stir well for 5 minutes |

Combine soy sauce and hoisin sauce with water and cornstarch in a pan and set aside. |

 |
When the shrimp becomes pink, put scallions and stir well and then add sauce mixture and let on medium fire for few minutes |
|
 |
Remove from fire and serve hot |

Instead of using the fresh shrimp, you can use the canned frozen raw-shrimp to save time. |
