Place a saucepan with oil over medium heat. |

Sauté the onion and garlic in oil for about 5 minutes. |

When onion is translucent, add rice, keeping the stir for about 8 minutes. |
|

Stir in hot water and the clove. Parboil over high heat then lower heat. |
|
 |
Add seasoning (salt and pepper) to taste. |
|
 |
Cook, covered, for about 20 minutes. |
|
 |
Rice is done when tender. Remove from flame. |
|
 |
Set rice aside for 5 minutes to allow it absorb the moisture. |
