Sautéed White Rice


المقادير
2 c. uncooked long-grain white rice, rinsed  
3 tbsp. olive oil  
5 c. hot water  
salt and pepper  
1 small onion, cut into small pieces  
1 chopped garlic clove  
1 whole clove  
طريقه التحضير
Place a saucepan with oil over medium heat.
Sauté the onion and garlic in oil for about 5 minutes.
When onion is translucent, add rice, keeping the stir for about 8 minutes.
Stir in hot water and the clove. Parboil over high heat then lower heat.
Add seasoning (salt and pepper) to taste.
Cook, covered, for about 20 minutes.
Rice is done when tender. Remove from flame.
Set rice aside for 5 minutes to allow it absorb the moisture.
