Seed and peel the pumpkin and chop into small squares |

Rinse lentils in cold water for an hour and discard all the bad and unneeded seeds that usually can be found with lentils |

In a large pan, put cayenne pepper, cumin, turmeric, and salt and cover with water and bring to a boil on a medium heat |

After boiling, add lentils and cover the pan and leave the mixture to simmer for 35 m. on a low heat |

Add pumpkin squares and leave the ingredients for more quarter of an hour |

Pour the coconut milk and then stir well until the mixture begins to boil and then remove from fire |

Mash the mustard seeds, onion slices, and curry leaf in another skillet and then fry for 4 to 5 minutes and then add it to the pumpkin pan and serve hot with rice dish covered with a thick, yellow sauce containing commercial curry powder. |
