Peel and slice potatoes thinly. |

Arrange potato slices, cheek by jowl, in the bottom of plate. |

Pour butter evenly over potatoes. |

Place potato plate in oven at 400°F and simmer for about 50 minutes, or until tender. |

Transfer onto a serving plate. |
