Pirozhki


المقادير
To make the Dough use: 2 c. flour  
1 egg  
Melted butter  
1/8 tsp. salt  
1/2 c. water or skim milk  
To prepare the Filling you need: 1/4 kg. ground beef  
4 peeled and chopped onions  
4 tbsp. sunflower oil  
Salt and pepper

Sauté the chopped onion in half of the oil after heating it till tender and then remove in a small bowl and set aside
Put the remaining oil and fry the meat in it with stirring well to divide it into small pieces and till brown
Blend the meat, pepper, salt and onion with an electric blender till smooth and set aside
For preparing the dough, mix flour, salt and egg and pour the milk or water over it and blend well till soft and continue kneading for 5 minutes
Roll the dough on a floured surface and then divide it into small round circles
Place 1 tbsp filling in the center of the circled dough and fold the edges well to make it half-circle shaped and press well with your finger and then with a fork
Arrange the pirozhki in greased cooking pan and bake in preheated oven at 400ºF for half an hour and then brush with melted butter and serve.
You can serve this recipe with straw potato and vegetable salad at dinner and sometimes with hot borscht and caviar in the large meals and celebrations
