Petits Fours


المقادير
3/4 tsp. lemon extract  
3 tbsp. melted butter  
3 to 4 tbsp. hot water  
1 c. flour  
1/8 tsp. salt  
3 eggs  
1 c. sugar  
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder  
1/4 c. cornstarch  
5 tbsp. water  
3 c. powdered sugar  
1/4 tsp. lemon extract  
1/2 lemon  
طريقه التحضير
Bring oven at heat 350°F.
In a large bowl, add flour, baking powder, cornstarch, and salt and mix well. Leave aside.
Use a whisk to beat eggs until smooth.
Add sugar to eggs, little by little. Mix thoroughly. Then stir in lemon and water. Blend constantly.
Add this mixture gradually to the flour mixture, mixing well after every addition.
Lightly butter a baking pan.
Pour batter into greased pan and bake for 25 to 30 minutes.
Batter is cooked when its color becomes lightly browned and when a knife inserted into its middle comes out nearly clean.
Remove cake from pan and allow to cool on a wire rack.
When cooling finishes, cut cake into 16 squares.
Prepare dressing by mixing all frosting ingredients in a small bowl until their texture has become light and creamy.
Garnish the tops of squares with the frosting. Serve in plates.
