Meat Balls, Cooked in Tomato Sauce

1 kg beef |

2 thick slices stale bread |

2 tablespoons parsley |

3 onions |

6-7 garlic cloves |

1 teaspoon cumin powder |

1 egg |

1 tablespoon flour |

Cooking oil |

To prepare sauce, you need: |

2 cups tomato juice |
|
 |
Pinch of sugar |
|
 |
1 sweet green pepper, chopped into very tiny pieces |
|

Salt and black pepper |

Sprinkle bread with cold water then squeeze till excess moisture is extracted. |

Add meat, cumin, seasoning,cloves, onions, and parsley to bread and mince twice. |

Knead this mixture with the beaten eggs. |

With wet hands, mold into round or oval balls and coat very thinly with seasoned flour. |

Heat cooking oil and broil meat balls until lightly golden, then transfer onto absorbent paper. |
|
 |
Fry green pepper (in same oil) until wilt, add tomato juice, sugar, salt, pepper, and cook for 11-12 minutes. |
|
 |
Return meatballs to pot and boil in tomato sauce for 30 minutes, till sauce thickens. |
