Lentil Soup (2)

المقادير
2 cups brown lentils  
6-7 crushed garlic cloves  
3 tomatoes, shelled and diced  
1 sliced onion  
2 tablespoons vermicelli  
2 loomi  
2 tablespoons ghee  
1 teaspoon mixed spice  
Salt  
loomi are limes dried in the sun and used to add flavor to soups and soups when pierced to let out aroma or to serve as medicine when boiled.

Brown the onion in the ghee until wilts, and add tomatoes, mixed spices and garlic and simmer for 5 minutes.
Place lentils in cooking pot and add onion mixture.
Pierce loomi several times to bring out their flavor, add to lentils with twice their measure in water, and parboil until lentils are tender.
Remove loomi, add salt, pepper, vermicelli, and more hot water (if necessary).
Simmer over low flame, stirring occasionally, untill you get a thick consistency of custard, then serve hot.
