Lamb and Rice


Lamb and Rice is a delicious Somalian recipe usually served in celebrations and for guests and people usually eat it with their hands without using fork or spoon
المقادير
2 c. uncooked brown rice  
1/2kg boneless lamb  
2 tbsp. vegetable oil  
1 chopped onion,  
1 minced garlic clove  
2 chopped tomatoes,  
1 tsp. ground cumin  
Dash of ground cloves  
1 tsp. ground cinnamon  
1/2 c. canned tomato paste  
Salt and pepper to taste  
5 c. water

Cut lamb into bite-size pieces and make it ready for use
Sauté onion, garlic, and lamb in preheated oil for 10 minutes with stirring frequently
Add tomatoes, cumin, cloves, cinnamon, tomato paste, and water and mix with other ingredients well
Parboil the mixture and then put the rice and seasoning
Lower heat and cover the pot and leave to simmer for 20 minutes and then serve hot
