Lamb Stew (Tava)


Tava is a recipe from Cyprus and it is so-named because it bears the name of a kitchen utensil (an unglazed terra-cotta casserole with tight fitting lid) in which this dish is always prepared.
المقادير
1 kg lamb  
1 tablespoon tomato paste  
5-7 tomatoes, shelled and diced  
1 teaspoon cumin powder  
Salt and black pepper  
3 onions, cut into coarse pieces  
طريقه التحضير
Slice lamb into small cubes.
Thin down tomato paste in 1/2 cup warm water, move into casserole, add all the ingredients.
Cover tightly with lid and bake in moderately-heated oven for 2-3 hours until meat is tender and sauce thickens.
