Hot Cross Buns


Hot cross buns are very world-famous and are appealing to almost everybody's appetite. In Italy, these sweet pies are favorites and households prefer to prepare it on Good Friday and Easter weekends.

To prepare 8 buns, you need:  
1 package refrigerated crescent rolls  
1/3c. raisins  
1/4 tsp. grated lemon/orange peel  
For icing:  
1/4 tsp. vanilla extract  
1/4 c. powdered sugar  
1 1/2 tsp. milk  
طريقه التحضير
Bring oven to 375°F heat.
Follow instructions on package to take dough out.
Distribute rolls into 8 triangles.
Make a mixture of raisins and lemon/orange peel in a small bowl.
Put 1 tsp. of raisin mixture in the middle of each triangle.
Roll up each triangle and pres gently to seal.
Transfer onto an ungreased cookie sheet and bake 12 to 14 minutes.
When lightly browned, remove from oven. Gently put rolls on a wire rack to cool.
For icing, blend powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract in a small bowl.
When milk mixture is soft and smooth, spread icing in a cross shape on top of each bun and serve.
