Honey Cake


Honey cake is a widely beloved favorite all through Poland and other European countries.

8 tbsp. butter  
4 eggs  
1 tsp. cinnamon  
2 tsp. baking powder  
1/2 tsp. ground cloves  
1 1/2 c. honey  
3 c. all-purpose flour  
1/2 tsp. ground ginger  
1/2 tsp. nutmeg  
طريقه التحضير
Bring oven to 350°F heat.
Separate eggs into yolks and whites.
Beat butter in a large mixing bowl until smooth.
Add egg yolks gradually, beating well after each addition.
Add honey and blend thoroughly.
Make a mixture of flour, ginger, nutmeg, cloves, cinnamon, and baking powder in a medium mixing bowl.
Add flour mixture to butter mixture. Stir thoroughly.
Beat egg whites in a medium mixing bowl.
When stiff, add egg whites to batter mixture.
Grease and flour a loaf pan.
Place batter into the pan and bake for about 1 hour until surface is slightly firm.
When done, a knife or toothpick inserted into the center of the flan should come out nearly clean.
Remove from oven and allow to cool in pan for 8 to 10 minutes.
Remove from loaf pan to cool on a wire rack.
Cut cake into slices and serve in plates.
