Peel and crush the cloves garlic. |

Sauté crushed garlic in a deep saucepan with oil over medium-high heat for about 2 to 3 minutes, or until golden. |

Cut the slices stale bread into cubes. |

Add bread cubes to saucepan. |

Remove saucepan from heat. Transfer fried bread and garlic into a small bowl and crush with a fork. |

Again, place bread and garlic in the saucepan over heat. |

Stir in chicken broth, bay leaf, and salt. Parboil all mixture over high heat. |

Reduce heat and cook for 5 minutes more. |
