Fish Soup

1 kg white fish |

4-6 garlic cloves |

cardamom pods |
|
 |
Bay leaf |
|
 |
Salt and black pepper |
|
 |
1 tablespoon cornflour |
|
 |
2 onions, chopped into quarters |

 |
Put onions, fish, cloves, cardamom pods, bay leaf, seasoning in pot, add water to cover, then parboil for 10-12 minutes. |

Lift fish from soup, shell, remove bones, and flake in large chunks. |

 |
Blend soup in mixer, drain with very fine sieve, return to fire, adjust seasoning, add flaked fish, bring to a boil, and add cornflour to thicken if soup is thin. |

 |
Transfer onto serving dishes then serve very hot. |
