Make a mixture of condensed milk and 1 c. of sugar in a medium saucepan. |

Place over medium heat for 5 minutes and cook until sugar dissolves. |

Add coconut and egg yolks to the pan and blend thoroughly. |
|

Cook for 10 to 15 minutes, mixing from time to time, until mixture begins to thicken into a candy syrup. |

Turn off fire and allow to cool for 11 or 13 minutes. |

Divide prunes evenly into quarters and shape the coconut candy into egg-shaped pieces about 1 inch long and press each piece firmly onto a prune segment. |

Insert a whole clove into the middle of the smooth coconut filling. |
|
 |
Roll each candy in a small bowl filled with remaining sugar, then serve. |

Be sure to remove the cloves “pupils” before eating! |
