Coconut Candies


At first sight, this savory sweet looks a bit like eyeballs!

To make 25 to 30 candies, you need:  
1 c. large pitted prunes  
25 to 30 whole cloves  
8 oz. reduced-fat condensed milk  
3 egg yolks  
2 c. coconut, grated  
1 1/4 c. sugar  
طريقه التحضير
Make a mixture of condensed milk and 1 c. of sugar in a medium saucepan.
Place over medium heat for 5 minutes and cook until sugar dissolves.
Add coconut and egg yolks to the pan and blend thoroughly.
Cook for 10 to 15 minutes, mixing from time to time, until mixture begins to thicken into a candy syrup.
Turn off fire and allow to cool for 11 or 13 minutes.
Divide prunes evenly into quarters and shape the coconut candy into egg-shaped pieces about 1 inch long and press each piece firmly onto a prune segment.
Insert a whole clove into the middle of the smooth coconut filling.
Roll each candy in a small bowl filled with remaining sugar, then serve.
Be sure to remove the cloves “pupils” before eating!
