Chickpea Soup (2)


المقادير
2 cups chickpeas  
6-7 crushed garlic cloves  
1 teaspoon cumin  
2 chopped onions  
2 tablespoons lemon juice  
Local bread  
2 tablespoons oil  
Salt  
طريقه التحضير
Leave chickpeas to soak a night before, strain, add fresh water twice their measure, and onions and cook about 20-30 minutes, until tender or wilt.
Leave aside 1 cupful of broth.
Add garlic, cumin, and lemon juice to the chickpeas and blend in a mixer or pound till you get a thin consistency.
Return to fire, add oil, adjust seasoning, and simmer for 4-5 minutes.
Cut bread into bite-sized pieces, 2-3 cms square, and place bottom of
serving dish.
Boil the cupful of broth again, moisten the bread with it, and cover with the boiled chickpeas.
