African Fruit Salad
This refreshing low-fat dessert is perfect after a satisfying meal.

2/3 cups of water |
|
 |
10/2 cups of sugar |
|
 |
1 sliced vanilla bean |
|
 |
1 fresh mango |
|
 |
Suitable amount of strawberries |
|
 |
Suitable amount of lemon juice |

 |
1 20-oz. can pineapple chunks in juice, drained |

 |
2 c. watermelon, seeded and cut into small pieces |

3 bananas |

Mix water, sugar, and sliced vanilla bean into a saucepan and place over medium-high heat until boiled. |

Cook for 8 to 10 minutes until thickens with syrupy then remove from heat and set aside to cool. |

Cut mango into medium pieces. Peel and slice bananas and sprinkle with lemon juice. Split strawberries into halves. Add all fruit to bowl and mix well. |

Discard vanilla bean from syrup. Pour syrup over fruit mixture and keep stirring well, then serve in individual plates. |
